The Ape Caves...Created from Lava...

Male apes in the natural habitat
Hanging out at "Ape Headquarters"
Ape Cave Info
We're ready for an adventure
This is one of the skylights toward the end of the cave
This is how you get out of the cave
Hey! Where did all this snow come from?
Right below Mt. St Helens (approx 6.5 miles) there is an underground cave formed that was created by lava. You can hike through this underground cave which pops out about 2.5 hours later and you hike back down to the opening. This was so much fun! I had no idea what to expect as this was our first time there but it was very cool, in the cave it is pitch black so you have to bring flashlights and other fun hiking toys. There are all kinds of rock piles to climb and a wall you have to scale to get through the cave, and all while you can see virtually nothing. It was such an adventure that I felt like a young child again...braving something new and not knowing what to expect! I recommend checking this out if you're ever in the area...

Can Rudabeggas swim??

We took a trip to Astoria and stayed at a lovely little cottage next to the sea lion sanctuary...they barked the whole time...who needs an alarm clock?

Mr. T and Arty...

Arty loves her Tony! Just look at this relationship! I'm getting jealous...

Artemis and Athena...

Anthonee and I have recently adopted two ratties, we love them! Artemis (The white girl with hood) belongs to Anthonee and Athena (The dark grey girl) belongs to me, both are named after greek goddesses. Why rats? They are very smart, sociable and curious. Hello! Harry Potter's best friend even has one!

Rudabeggas in Cougar, Washington...

Rudabeggas like to have fun...on a trip to the Ape Caves in Washington we stopped in the little town of "Cougar" to meet the town mascot...

Clearly a Rudabegga...

With a face like that how could you be classified as anything else?

What Does a Rudabegga look like?

The "Rutabaga" or swede or (yellow) turnip (Brassica napobrassica, or Brassica napus var. napobrassica) is a root vegetable that originated as a cross between the cabbage and the (white) turnip—see the turnip disambiguation page. Its leaves may also be eaten as a leaf vegetable...don't get that confused with the "Rudabegga"...
